Vacation

I posted the following quote on a friend’s time line on Facebook this morning when he commented that the sunset on vacation inspired him to work. Bradford is one of the premier up and coming fashion designers in Pittsburgh, someone who many, many women lined up to try out at his casting call for his January show. He showed a photo of the sunset and commented how it prompted him to pull out his sketch book and design a dress based on the sunset. My comment was “ Artists never actually go on vacation. They just go some place they think will be relaxing but end up being inspired to do work while there anyways.” The photo on this post was shot while on vacation in May 2013 while visiting my parents who live near Hilton Head Island, SC. This photo was shot on Coligny Beach at sunrise around 6 AM. As further proof of my point I cited an interview between David Letterman and Warren Zevon where Zevon said that he was inspired to write the song “Lawyers, Guns and Money” while on vacation.
