Sunrise Poem

I traverse the shoreline

Before the dawn

The sun has yet to

Break through

The darkness

The sky is a ribbon

Of blacks, charcoals

It is peaceful

The world is alseep

No one has yet awoken

The only thing

You can hear

Is the gentle whisper

Of the wind

And the squeaks of the gulls

Singing joyfully

Slowly I walk along

The shoreline

Feeling the softness

Of the sand

Between my toes

The waves gently roll in

Playfully splashing

Kissing my feet

A glowing ribbon

Pierces the horizon

The darkness slowly

Surrenders to light

The sky is awash

With color

Like a painters palette

As the day awakens

The black of night

Has given way to blue

The glow of the newly born sun

Radiates a pink hue

To the clouds overhead

The horizon glows red

Gently warming

The water

A glowing golden disk

Is now rising over

The water

Illuminating everything

With its radiance and love

Signaling the end

To nights grip

Over the new day

The once black sky

Is now full

Of life

Glowing with warmth

The sleeping beach

Has awoken

Gently embracing

Her lovers

I close my eyes

Feel the gentle wind

Caress my skin

The waves gently

Massage my feet

The sun warm my soul

Soak in

The love

My Spirit

Is revitalized

My being restored

I can now

Begin my day

Energized

Refreshed

Renewed.
