Michael the Artist.
The other day I was discussing my new work with Rhoda and comparing it with my iconography, photography and poetry. We were discussing this because I plan to make some major changes to my websites and on line presence. In the past I would keep my icons separate from any other art that I did, and especially from my photography. Rhoda made a very simple and yet deep point. Even though the work spans many different genres, it all comes from the same source. The person who creates and paints the sacred icons is the same person that does photography, some of which might offend my iconography patrons. The modern art that I am now doing comes from the same place that the poetry, photography and iconography come from. There is no separation between Michael the Iconographer, Michael the Photographer, Michael the Artist and Michael the Poet. They are all one in the same person, Michael the artist. As I begin to make changes to my websites, the new resulting website will reflect this reality.
